Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Suhrit ("the App") is an Ayurvedic health companion designed to help patients view prescriptions issued by their Ayurvedic doctor. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is handled, and your rights as a user.
We are committed to your privacy. The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information to our servers. All prescription data is stored locally on your device.
2. Information We Access
Camera
The App requests access to your device camera only to scan QR codes printed on paper prescriptions issued by your doctor. No photos or video are ever taken, saved, or transmitted. Camera access is used in real time solely for QR code decoding; once the scan is complete the camera is released immediately.
Prescription Data
When you scan a QR code, the App retrieves an encrypted prescription file from a secure cloud storage location. This file is decrypted locally on your device using a key embedded in the QR code. The decrypted prescription — including patient name, medicines, yoga postures (āsanas), dietary guidance (pathya/apathya), and visit date — is stored locally on your device only and is never sent back to any server.
Local Device Storage
Prescription and patient data is persisted on your device using AsyncStorage so that you can view your prescriptions offline. This data never leaves your device. You can delete all stored data by uninstalling the App.
Notifications
If you enable medicine reminders in Settings, the App will request permission to send you local push notifications. These reminders are scheduled entirely on-device based on the medicine timings in your prescription. No notification content is sent to or processed by any external server.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- No account registration or login is required.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information.
- We do not use analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting services that transmit personal data.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not share any data with third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
Prescription files are retrieved from Amazon S3 (AWS) using a short-lived, pre-signed URL derived from your QR code. The request includes only the file identifier — no user credentials or personal identifiers are transmitted. Refer to Amazon's Privacy Policy for details on how AWS handles network requests.
5. Data Security
Prescription data is encrypted at rest (on S3) and in transit (HTTPS). The decryption key exists only inside the QR code given to you by your doctor — it is never stored on any server. Only someone with the physical prescription (or its QR code) can access the data.
6. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. Prescriptions for minors are managed by the guardian who scanned the QR code and are stored on that person's device.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
8. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or the App's data practices, please contact your Ayurvedic healthcare provider who issued your prescription, or reach out through the Vinirmit platform at suhrit247@gmail.com.
